Cleans water very well. i remove it at night for cope pods and when feeding Marine Snow or fish larvae. Read a lot about it gets dirty and over flows quickly. Have not had that problem. Also read a lot about washing it and having spares. I spray mine out with a garden hose sprayer and it comes very clean.

All i can say is that i have never before used the sock in my tank and now i would not go without it. Catches everything. great product.

These work great for polishing your aquarium water but they are difficult to wash. I assume they're meant to be washable. Mine start overflowing in just 2 days.
