Float Sensors
The A.T.O. is equipped with (2) float sensors that activate within seconds when your water level drops and automatically refills your sump or tank until it reaches your desired set point. The new LiterMeter III™ is an automatic precision dosing pump for the aquarium and horticulture industry. Three independent programs control one built-in pump and one or two external pumps. Perform 2-way water changes, in addition to eliminating the manual drudgery of dosing Kalkwasser, trace elements, or topping off evaporated water. Quiet operation, auto-calibration, and virtually maintenance-free.
The new aquarium dosing pump is crafted from precision-machined aluminum fabricated to exacting aerospace tolerances. For example, such critical tolerances as the rollers are machined to +/-0.0005". The outer surface is polished to a mirror finish. Internal surfaces are held to a 63 micro inch finish and hard anodized to provide a durable and low-friction raceway. The pump's planetary direct drive is at an 11:1 ratio, thus providing enough torque to generate over 40 pounds of pressure. This incredible lift enables the LiterMeter III™ to pump over 60 feet above itself at a flow rate of over 250 ml/min. It can also draw up from 25 feet below. The motor in the LiterMeter III™ is made by a manufacturer of precision high reliability motors made to our specifications as a peristaltic drive motor. Calcium maintenance and alkalinity control are essential for a healthy reef tank. Aquaniveau Two Switch Dosing System by AquaMedic : A common mistake in the aquarium hobby is to run the output from an R/O filter directly to a mechanical float switch on the aquarium filter to compensate for evaporation. In this application the R/O produces very poor quality water because it is operated only in short bursts. An R/O filter produces its best water quality when run for an extended period of time. Therefore the ideal top-off system begins with a reservoir that is filled periodically by an extended run of the R/O filter. Water is then pumped, via a peristaltic dosing pump such as the Aqua Medic SP3000, from the R/O reservoir into the aquarium filter “on-demand” as water evaporates.
Obviously this type of top-off system requires a reliable level sensing system within the aquarium filter and a switching controller to operate the top-off pump to maintain the water level.
The Aqua Medic Aquaniveau is an excellent solution, providing two low-voltage float sensors.
One senses the level within the filter reservoir to turn on a top-off pump when the level there drops and another to shut off the top-off pump when the water level in the R/O reservoir gets too low, to prevent it from running dry. For larger systems the peristaltic pump can be substituted for a higher flow rate pump to better suit the inherently greater rate of evaporation.
In a second mode the Aquaniveau can be connected with an M-Ventil solenoid valve to control the R/O filter with a minimum and maximum reservoir level set by the pair of float switches.

Liquidoser by Eheim : The new EHEIM Liquidoser dosing system, has been designed to do the job for you by automatically dosing EHEIM plant supplement. The Liquidoser doses 1 ml per rotation with up to 8 rotations per 24 hr. period. It has an optional push-button for manual dosing, electronic programming for precise dosing based on aquarium size.
Tsunami AT-1 Aquarium Auto Top-Off System : The Tsunami AT1 auto top-off system uses a powerhead or pump (user supplied) to keep a constant level in a sump. When the water level in the sump drops 1", the AT1 top off system will turn on the reservoir pump and turn it off after the sump fills up 1".

Tunze Osmolator 3155 Water Level Regulation System : Tunze Osmolator 3155 is a Water level regulator with two sensor holding devices, extension and numerous fastening accessories. It is suitable for use in cabinet filter plants, in Comline filters or on the edge of the aquarium.
This Tunze osmotic regulator can also be used in TUNZE SYSTEM cabinet filter plants.
The sensors can be stuck to glass surfaces or can be fitted directly to the edge of the tank.

The precise water level is ensured by a non-wearing optical sensor and a transistor switch without any moving parts. This Tunze sensor is insensitive to soiling, light or magnetic fields.
Its “automatic eye” recognises the water level precisely, even small waves or level variations cannot irritate the unit.
An independent safety sensor with a separate power supply circuit and relay control ensures reliable overflow protection.

Level Loc Top Off system by GAP Products : Fits most any aquarium or other type sump.
The water level is maintained by a polypropylene float with stainless steel hardware. The float has an adjustable arm for fine-tuning water height and can be swiveled nearly 180 degrees to the desired orientation.
The float is mounted on a riser arm that slides up and down allowing you to position the float at the desired height in the sump. The riser is secured with a nylon bolt.
A float switch and solenoid valve provide safety backup in the event the float valves fails or becomes obstructed by a pesky snail or power cord
The solenoid is 12V 5W for mininum power consumption and safe operation near water. As an added safety backup, the solenoid can be plugged into a timer (see our accessories) so that the water is only flowing for short intervals each day. This also allows your RO/DI unit to run less frequently and produce more water when it is running.
The bracket is built of rigid PVC for durability. The bracket is secured to the sump by two 1.5" nylon bolts on the outside and a large 1 7/8" suction cup on the inside.
Optional Timer:
Pre-programmed electronic timer that is set to come on 4 times per day. You can change the programming to whatever you prefer. The timer adds another layer of safety to the ATO and allows an RO/DI unit to run only 4 times per day which allows it to produce more water at one time.
