I hesitated about adding carbon to my saltwater nano but was pleased with the results. I use the filter media bags that I purchased from AquaCave to use whatever amount I need for my filter slot.

it keeps up w/ alk and cal demanding for my tank, and the best part is not cloudy the water at all...

Does not cloud the aquarium! I replace carbon once a month. I put the carbon in a micro bag.
