The product needs to be calibrated occasionally. Plugging it in seems to cause wide variances in the reading (voltage charges). When the battery starts to go the pH readings start to drift upwards (like real pH 8.2-reading is 8.4-replace the battery, voila 8.2 reading). Other than that it has been quite reliable for a long time

Calibrating this monitor seems to be a pain in the neck compared to my Reef Fanatic PH controller,but outside of that it seems to be a good instrument to have.

Great monitor and excellent price! Nice and light so you can use velcro and mount it wherever you want.
Very easy to calibrate with the included fluids and versatile with either the battery power or the optional ac adapter.

This works well as you can always see your pH at a glance on the way by your fish tank. No hard to read dipping strips or matching up colors with test kits. Calibration is fairly easy.
