While this item works for a cheaper way to mount hoses, I would not use this if you have the money for some stainless steel worm drive clamps. These are awkward to install and remove

these clamps work well; they tighten a connection without over-tightening it (easy to do with the stainless steel hose clamps).
they stick out a bit more than i expected, so it is important to put the "clamp" end pointing in the direction you want (usually outward).
you can pry them open and "re-clamp" them, but to open them is a bit of a pain, partly because you are cramped for space and partly due to having this items design.

These little clamps are great, but without thinking about it I got the two largest sized ones to clamp some filter material over the output of my skimmer, and these things are way too small to do any good on anything. I have one on the output of my cpr fuge that I got somewhere else, and it is much larger, like 1 3/4" or something. So these are just sitting around now.
