I had some of the same issues that others have had with skimmer overflowing. Did a little research and found an easy fix of putting a valve on the venturi hose. I guess it was taking in too much air but I turned it down and it skims consistantly with thick head of bubbles. Would have got 5 stars if not for the leg work and the price tag because it is a great skimmer on my 60g cube.

Easily the best for the money. This skimmer blows everything Ive ever used away. Worth twice the price. (Updated on 1/13/2012.)

Amazing skimmer! pulls thick dark skimate. very easy to set up too.
I did a review on the skimmer and its pulling in 13 L/min 780 L/hrs of air (280 more than advertised)!!!!

Love this skimmer! it took me about 20 minutes to get it up and running, and within a day its skimming a nice dark liquid. The quality it also very good on this unit, i am happy with my purchase.

its an okay skimmer. i personally expected more for the price. Skimmer keeps overflowing when in water depths recommended by aquacave. i had to run mine with out the valve so it wont overflow since i cannot raise it higher due to my stand. works well in water depths around 6.5 and NOT 9-10 inches. Fairly loud humming sound. i here the skimmer more then my overflow. however it does skim fairly well. i am just not really impressed with it for 279.00 bucks.
