This skimmer is amazing. It was skimming the first hour of operation. I am amazed at the amount of "stuff" it removes on a daily basis. I have owned other high $$ skimmers and this is by far the best skimmer I have ever used. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a larger tank! I am considering buying a smaller version for my 60 gallon cube tank.

It is a great skimmer while it lasted. However the first gen EDEN pump had design flaw that the needle wheel impeller shaft will actually rust, causing magnetic ring to crack and seize the pump. I don't know how SKIMZ does their product testing but for a saltwater equipment to rust is totally unacceptable. Although aquacave does carry replacement needle wheel impeller but I only worry it will end up the same 1.5 yrs later and I have already lost some SPS coral due to the rust contamination from this incident.

I've had this skimmer for about a month now and couldn't be happier. i waited to review so i could really see how it performed over time. this skimmer produces an immense amount of bubbles. it also has such a small foot print that it fits in a 20 gallon sump. the skimmer is on a 110 gallon system and it can still pull out waste material despite having 0ppm ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. the pump is dead quite so far. the skimmer itself is also very sleek; you can tell Skimz put a lot of effort into making this thing. the only drawback for me is the gate valve. it's very sensitive and you have to adjust it each time you remove the collection cup. be prepared to watch the skimmer for a while each time the cup is removed to make sure the cup column doesn't overflow. other than that, this is a quality skimmer that is capable of pulling out a ton of waste

Got this thing out of the box and skimming like a champ in under 20 minutes on my 210 gallon SPS tank. The build is high quality and the installation is extremely simple. After 18 hours of operation I have 4 inches of dark/wet, gunk in the collection cup that my old ASM was seemingly unable to get to. The sheer amount of foam amazed me; it’s like nothing I have ever seen before. It is worth every penny.

At half the price of a bubble king this skimmer is awesome. Its built with quality parts and is easy to put together. Took a few days to break in and now its pulling some nasty skimmate!! Amazing quality at an awesome price. Switched from a euro reef RS180 and the SM 201 is out performing it big time. Pickup a Skimz you wont be dissapointed!!!
