Used on a 150 (48x24x30) gallon as a supplemental power head (in conjunction with a mp40w es). This powerhead produces broad wide gentle flow. It is dead silent and you do not hear anything when it turns on. I have it set to turn on every 10 minutes via wavemaker. Now I do prefer my mp40, but that was also $445. This is an excellent product.

This sturdy powerhead has been working well with a very basic wavemaker, coupled with a Hydor Evolution Pump. While slightly larger, and more box-like than the Evolution, I appreciate the shower head-like output to further vary the water movement in my reef. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the somewhat high cost. In the end, it might be worth it in terms of durability, but that remains to be seen at this time. Good, solid pump which can be coupled with a basic or advanced wavemaker.

First off this does not push a ton of water compared to say the Vortech MP40W or the Hydor Koralia Magnums--however it is drastically quieter and easier to mount/adjust to make it just the right fit in your tank. I would not recommend in a larger tank (75G+ as a main powerhead but as a supplement is has fit my needs perfect). I use a wavemaker with a hard start to turn this pump on and I can never hear it turn on (unlike the Hydor Koralias-- which do not use with a wavemaker).
Not the cheapest powerhead but well worth it if you dont need/want your fish/corals being blown around.
