Spacelight EX 48" Metal Halide Fixture 2x250W HQI + 2x54W T5 by AquaMedic.

The Spacelight EX is the next generation family of lighting products from Aqua Medic.
They are packed with all the best attributes of the renowned Spacelight series including the finest German bulb holders, superior reflectors, and aluminum housings in a fine powder coat finish. They also boast the best of the Oceanlight series with a variety of sizes and formats, competitive prices and all external ballasts. Even the T5 ballasts are externally cord mounted! All HQI lamps are powered by US made Reeflex Cube magnetic ballasts (included).

The first to arrive are the 150w HQI and 250w HQI pendants. Each includes a lamp, hanging kit and a Reeflex Cube magnetic ballast.

HQI + T5 combo fixtures and all HQI fixtures in lengths up to 6 feet will follow shortly so stay tuned for more from this outstanding new family of lighting products.

This is a great light. It looks nice over the tank and wont blind you if you keep it in frequently inhabited living spaces. This fixture has nice aluminum fins that keep the light from spilling into rooms where you don't want it. The unit does not have any cooling, so you'll need a fair amount of fans as it gets pretty hot. My only gripe about the unit is that the T-5 output is a bit weak, but this may just be the bulbs I have running in the unit. The remote ballast is very nice with fan cooling, 3 switches (one for each halide and one for the T-5s). There are two cords for halide/T-5s to simulate dawn and dusk. Overall I'm very happy with the unit, but will play around with the bulbs to find a sweet spot.
