Very under-appreciated filter. Review by Maddie
I really like this filter and although most people would call it old-fashioned & inefficient, I have found them to be very efficient. People tend to go for as much power as they can in regards to filtration but what they fail to realize is that the more pressure forcing debris through the filter medium tends to micronize it so after a few passes whatever mechanical medium is in use is basically useless. These types of filters have a more gentle flow rate so they trap much more debris & waste. I had a 10 gallon tank with a HOB & a sponge filter that just didn't seem to be as clear as I would have liked. I removed the HOB & added this with just floss & a couple or rocks to weigh it down. Within 24 hours the tank was so clear I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. I love these filters, use these filters & recommend these filters. Cheap, practical & efficient.
