  • Brightwell Aquatics BoroChrom, Concentrated Boron Solution for Improved Coralline Growth & Red Coloration in Zooxanthellate

Brightwell Aquatics BoroChrom, Concentrated Boron Solution for Improved Coralline Growth & Red Coloration in Zooxanthellate

Brightwell Aquatics BoroChrom, Concentrated Boron Solution for Improved Coralline Growth & Red Coloration in ZooxanthellateIn natural seawater, boron is a non-conservative major element with a concentration of ~4.54 ppm. Boron plays an active role in regulating the pH in marine systems, and maintaining the boron concentration within a narrow range of the [B]NSW, relative to systems with depressed [B], typically results in faster growth of coralline algae and formation of aragonite in reef-building invertebrates in most systems, when all other physical and chemical requirements are met. Recent experimentation with maintaining slightly elevated [B] in reef aquaria indicates that enhanced production of red phytopigments results, improving color intensity of zooxanthellate corals with a yellow, orange, or red base coloration.

  • Brightwell Aquatics Hydrat-MG, Solution of Hydrated Magnesium Salts for Use in Reef and Marine Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics Hydrat-MG, Solution of Hydrated Magnesium Salts for Use in Reef and Marine Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics Hydrat-MG, Solution of Hydrated Magnesium Salts for Use in Reef and Marine Aquaria Safely increases magnesium concentration in all marine and reef aquaria. Utilizes specific magnesium salts to obtain the desired results. May be used to attain and maintain a magnesium concentration in excess of 1,500 ppm as desired by aquarist. Maintaining an elevated magnesium concentration, relative to the average natural seawater concentration, for a prolonged period of time may be of benefit to reef aquaria in certain situations, and should be attempted by experienced aquarists only. 75,000 ppm magnesium

  • Brightwell Aquatics ExtraxPhos, Spherical Phosphate-Adsorption Media for Use in All Freshwater & Marine Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics ExtraxPhos, Spherical Phosphate-Adsorption Media for Use in All Freshwater & Marine Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics ExtraxPhos, Spherical Phosphate-Adsorption Media for Use in All Freshwater & Marine AquariaPhosphate, while required in miniscule amounts by living organisms for proper functioning, can indirectly negatively impact the overall appearance of an aquarium system if it is allowed to exist at a concentration measurable by most aquarium test kits (e.g. >0.05 ppm); in order for this impact to occur, other undesirable substances must be present in varying concentrations, however these substances are rarely limiting in the typical marine aquarium. Because of this, elevated phosphate concentrations, whether sporadic or chronic, should be combated. The combined characteristics of shape, porosity, and grade of material enable Extrax Phos to effectively trap phosphate and remove it from aquarium water. This method of treatment may be used as needed and/or on a continual basis to maintain an immeasurable phosphate concentration in a marine aquarium.

  • Brightwell Aquatics NeoNitro, Balanced Nitrogen Source for Nitrogen-Limited, Low-Nutrient Reef Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics NeoNitro, Balanced Nitrogen Source for Nitrogen-Limited, Low-Nutrient Reef Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics NeoNitro, Balanced Nitrogen Source for Nitrogen-Limited, Low-Nutrient Reef Aquaria Used in conjunction with MICROBACTER7 and REEF BIOFUEL or KATALYST, enables natural phosphorus uptake to take place in systems with inadequate nitrogen content, lowering phosphate concentration without the use of chemical filtration media and without resorting to polluting the system with organic material to raise the nitrogen content. Recommended for use by advanced reef aquarists maintaining ultra-low nutrient content systems, only. May be used with MICROBACTER7 (selected microbes and enzymes), REEF BIOFUEL and/or KATALYST (organic carbon source), and NEOPHOS (phosphorus source) to achieve desired nutrient content in reef aquaria for improved health and coloration of inhabitants.

    Starting at: $7.70

  • Brightwell Aquatics NeoPhos, Balanced Phosphorus Source for Phosphorus-Limited, Low-Nutrient Reef Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics NeoPhos, Balanced Phosphorus Source for Phosphorus-Limited, Low-Nutrient Reef Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics NeoPhos, Balanced Phosphorus Source for Phosphorus-Limited, Low-Nutrient Reef AquariaSuccessfully-operated low-nutrient and ultra-low-nutrient reef aquaria rely upon a balance of carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus in order to enable beneficial microbes to efficiently remove latent organic material by means of consuming it and converting it into additional microbial biomass. The resulting perpetual supply of planktonic microbes is exported from the system via protein skimming and/or captured by corals and other suspension-feeding invertebrates, recycling the once-latent organic material (waste) into additional biomass of these organisms. These nutrients are also required by zooxanthellae, and therefore by zooxanthellate invertebrates, for continued existence.

  • Brightwell Aquatics Clarifi-SW, Advanced Clarifier for All Marine Fish and Reef Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics Clarifi-SW, Advanced Clarifier for All Marine Fish and Reef Aquaria

Brightwell Aquatics Clarifi-SW, Advanced Clarifier for All Marine Fish and Reef AquariaPoor water clarity can be caused by a number of types of suspended particulate material, which may themselves be caused by excessive nutrient concentrations, digging/burrowing/feeding activities of fishes and/or motile invertebrates, excessive water flow directed at fine-particulate sediment, etc. Clarif-SW clears cloudy water by utilizing the weak electrical charges of water-borne particles as a means of binding them; the resultant relatively-large (and heavy) particles are then: trapped by mechanical filtration, exported by protein skimming, and/or fall out of the water column onto the aquarium bottom, where they can be siphoned out of the system, if desired, by the aquarist. Clarif-SW is a useful tool to immediately improve clarity in aquaria on public display.
