The Reactor 500 is an amazing device for introducing CO2 into your live plant aquarium. Water is pumped from top to bottom, opposing the bubbles of CO2 gas that rise slowly through the spiral dissolution path with extraordinary contact time.
This advanced design ensures a high dissolution rate for efficient use of the CO2 gas. The Reactor 500 can be mounted inside the aquarium or, space permitting, within your open filtration system. The Reactor 500 is designed for use on live plant aquaria up to 125 gallons.
Reactor Extensions allow you to increase your CO2 capacity for larger systems.

This is my first planted tank. Im a newbie to CO2. Hookup was straightforward (5 minutes) and the bubbles this makes are very tiny so I guess thats a good thing. What wasn't clear to me is that this *requires* a stream of pumped water. Fortunately I use an Eheim canister filter so I was able to connect the output hose from the Eheim to the input of this reactor and that worked fine. If you're using hang-on filters, you'll need to purchase a pump to use with this. Make sure to get a back flow prevention valve too.
