They quietly skim up to six times more water than units with tubes.
The advantages of CPR Continuous Siphon Overflows/Prefilters include:

* Black top reduces algae growth.
* Plastic screen to prevent fish loss.
* Quiet operation.

over rated gph? stay quiet once setup properly Review by Andy
I have this overflow box paired with mag 12 pump(rated for 1200gph)initially & seems like it was way too much flow for the overflow box to handle. it had a lot of gurgling no matter how i adjust the vent tube. after i switched to a mag 9.5 (950gph), overflow box was able to quiet down significantly. A Good Product Review by JWW
This is a good product for what it is. It handles what it is supposed to handle. I run a Mag24 through mine with no problem. The only drawback is having to use an airlift pump continuously to keep it running. (Posted on 5/26/2009)
