    Product Rating:

All of the above Current Orbit LEDs w/timers work well. I have my tank separated into two sections via lexon partition w/ holes for water flow: (1) section is @ 30 gal. that has GSP, frogs pond, small LPS coral, a pygmy angel, cardinals and cleaner pk. The remaining 145 gallons house a couple Galaxy Rose Bubble Tip Anemones hosting (2) clownfish, (1) Lg. Emperator Angel, (2) Lg. Semi-lavartus Butterfly, (1) Medium Blue Tang, Mated Pair (2) of Medium Regal Angels, (1) Flame Pygmy, (1) Medium Asfur Angel, (1) Multicolor Pygmy, (1) Medium Goldfalke Angel & several snails and crabs. Inhabitants are surrounded by @ 135-150 lbs. live rock covered with coraline algae. All coral and fish are very healthy with vivid bright colors. This particular tank is @ 10 years old. The return pump (Jebao 12,000 w/controller) is a true 1,700 (+) gallons per hour with major water flow in tank. I also have a lg. protein skimmer, bio pellet reactor, phosphate reactor and UV sterilizer. I have the LEDs under a hood setting about 2" above water on (maintained) clear glass. My main concern with LEDS over open water with major water flow is that you need to be very careful about salt creep, especially on ends of light fixture. I had a 36'-48" Current Orbit go out on me a few weeks ago that was @ 2" over open water. My experience with LEDs tells me that if you want to place lights over open water, they need to be out-of-reach of salt spray, e.g. depends on water flow but placing LEDs at least 5-6 '' above open water should work. Of course the par parameters for coral will change. If the Current Orbit Pro LEDs were available when I 1st purchased this Current USA Orbit lighting system, I would have bought the Orbit LED PRO series, for sure. I started as a marine hobbyist in 1987. (Posted on 5/19/2015)

  2. Great value LED, good customer service. Review by Sara
    Product Rating:

I've had this light for 8 months now. I originally used it on a 30 gallon fish only saltwater tank. I only ran it at 60% and felt like it was good output.
A few months after getting it I noticed the screws that hold on the end caps were rusted. Then a bit later the adjustable legs got a little rust.
About a month ago the light shocked me. It was very small, almost like static shock but lasted longer. I bought a voltmeter and found the housing was leaking electricity in one are. It was very odd.
I contacted their customer service and they were very easy to work with. They sent me a return label and as soon as they received my light and looked it over, they sent me a replacement. Altogether I was without a light 2 weeks.
I've been very pleased with my overall experience. The light has lots of great options for fun settings.
The light itself is great for fish and low light corals. If you have a shallow enough tank it is great for mid light corals.
I currently have this light on a 20 tall and have some LPS corals.
I would definitely recommend this light to someone looking for decent beginner coral lighting that wants a timer with sunrise/sunset and other program options. (Posted on 3/15/2015)

  3. Get what you pay for, very nice feature packed item Review by Ken
    Product Rating:

I use this on my 56G FOWLR tank. it's 30" wide, and this fixture sits nicely on top of it.

It has some interested lighting modes, like storm mode and cloudy weather. I like them a lot just for fun. The unit comes with a timer to handle everything and this is where it loses a star.

The timer has a blue backlight which never turns off. This is annoying and so I had to get a IR repeater so I can hide it by more of my equipment inside my stand for normal non-programming usage. The other reason its 4 out of 5 stars is that it does not seem to keep the time that well. It would've been nice if it had a small button battery in it to keep the time going if the power is lost, or to have better circuitry to keep track of time. My unit has lost a little bit of time (1 minute every 3-4 weeks) so I adjust it every 2 months back to what it should be.
