Great for a Large Tank, and not really that loud

Posted by John Hurt on Jul 9th 2011

This device is running 4 12" long airstones, plus 4 air curtain diffusers in my 2 deep 960 gallon Aquaponic tank. The curtain diffusers are percolating air through the gravel beds I use to grow my plants and filter the water for the fish. It pumps plenty of air.

This is a commercial sized pump, and it sits on rubber legs that you screw down on a wooden board. It did make the board rattle and other things around it because of the vibration, but once I secured the board so the board could not vibrate, there was just a gentle hum from the pump itself, no more than a box fan.
