The Hydro Sponge filters provides both mechanical and biological filtration. Aerobic bacteria colonize the sponge, providing a bacterial substrate to facilitate the nitrogen cycle. In addition, the Hydro-Sponge traps larger waste particles, mechanically cleaning the water without trapping the baby fish.
Five Sizes Available:
- Hydro Sponge I, up to 10 gal.
- Hydro Sponge II, up to 20 gal.
- Hydro Sponge III, up to 30 gal.
- Hydro Sponge IV, up to 80 gal.
- Hydro Sponge V, up to 120 gal.

First time using. I thought my water was clean with regular filtration. But first time (one week) rinsing the sponge out I couldn't believe all it had collected. Now my tank sparkles! Although large, (IV)its very easy to conceal.

Great product! Good way to start bios in new tanks and if you have small fish they wont get sucked up in the filter. Great place for fry to eat from. They are in all my tanks and there are many of them.
