I have recently added this to my lighting system. This and the T5 vho Icecap 660 retro literally put the power of the sun over my tank. I got the phoenix 14k bulb which is a beautiful whitish blue. I just got the stock reflector for now but will probably upgrade to something else in the future as well as a second setup to have 2 over my tank, right now the one is just to the left side of the brace on my tank.The ballast does get warm and the reflector gets hot enough to fry an egg on. I do have it 7 inches off the water surface so it does not heat up my water one bit I turned my heater off to see if and how much it did and the temp dropped. If you use it in a hood be careful to not put anything combustible near the reflector because it will catch on fire and USE FANS!!! I see a lot of folks complain about halides cooking their tank, well hello, you need to use a fan or two to get the heat out of the hood or its going to go the only place it can-into the water. When I have my hood complete there will be 3 across the top and 2 on each end ebay is great for computer fans which work perfect for hood cooling apps

Great communication from the guys at aquacave. Received it very fast. Excellent quality reflector and the quality you would expect from Icecap. Ballast is nice and compact. Hamilton 10k is crisp and bright
