This Reef Octopus skimmer is powered by the Hailea OTP 2000 pump and built with high quality acrylic. The Octopus skimmers uses metric plumbing parts. The pump has an improved venturi design and pinwheel impeller.

Love it
Easily assembled after looking up instruction video from YouTube. Looks great works great. <br>I did notice micro bubbles after a few days , however I found the problem was that my water level in aquarium was low. Topped it back off with water and easily corrected issue with bubbles. <br>I have no regrets buying this product.

Easy to Use
Set up went quickly and it was amazing to see how much waste was being pulling out of the water. The water looked clear before but it is amazing how much better it looks now. Glad I made the investment into this piece of equipment. The folks at Aqua Cave are great to work with.

Great skimmer from Reef Octopus!!
I've had the Reef Octopus Classic 2000 HOB Protein Skimmer on my Eel tank for almost a year. This skimmer is a work horse. It's a bit on the large size. Comes equipped with a Aquatrance 1000s Pinwheel Pump. Very quiet and dependable pump. The construction of the skimmer is top notch. That's expected coming from Reef Octopus. If you are in the market for a HOB skimmer, you definitely should consider this one...... On a side note, plug your nose! This skimmer really pulls out some nasty stuff..... :)

Love, love, love it!
Being a newbie to the saltwater reef world, I read the reviews and compared the prices on protein skimmers. I didn't want to give up quality, but also didn't want to bust the bank. I am using the 2000 HOB skimmer on a 65 gal. aquarium. I had a little difficulty setting it up because it didn't really come with instructions, at least not to my ability, but after watching some Youtube videos, I got it together and primed. I was anticipating some of the problems I'd read about, but it worked like a dream. My system is live rock and gulf sand and the skimmer started working immediately. It's been up for 9 days and is working like a charm. My water is crystal clear and my parameters are awesome. I can't imagine anything easier or better. I highly recommend this product!
