ReefLux is the first true 10000K full spectrum metal halide bulb to be offered to the aquarium market.
Other manufacturers claim to offer a 10000K lamp but that is just a marketing number of their best attempt to offer a full spectrum 10000K lamp.
This is why they have a yellow or orange appearance and need to have some kind of fluorescent actinics to balance it out.
Generally the more yellow or orange a bulb the more PAR the bulb will produce.
ReefLux offers you the highest PAR rating without having to flood your aquarium with high powered fluorescent blue bulbs.
The ReefLux 12000K has the performance of the 10000K but with a touch of blue added.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent bulbs!

These bulbs have a very good PAR rating when combined with electronic ballasts. I use the galaxy electronic ballast, and wow are these bulbs making a huge difference in my tank. Ive been using them for a year and a half, and I love them. On an electronic ballast they are a little whiter than on standard ballasts. They definitely help my corals to be very colorful without the tank being too blue! I even added some T5 actinics to blue it up a little to my taste. If you want a great bulb, but don't like the look of the 20k bulbs, Id definitely try these. You wont be disappointed!

5 out of 5 stars Great bulb

I run three of these 20k bulbs on galaxy electronic ballast. They have a nice blue tint to them which really makes the coral and fish look nice. I don't run any actinics but with these bulbs i don't think their is any need to!
