Since the introduction of the Turbelle® stream pump, the realisation of currents in reef aquariums has changed. This new type of pump has been developed especially for water circulation in aquariums and sets an absolute record in the field of aquarium pumps with 20,000 l/h (5,283 US gal./h) and an energy consumption of 62 Watt. Commercially available aquarium pumps produce an excessively high flow rate in the core area of the water jet and a much too low flow in the marginal areas.
These differences will lead to stress on the aquarium inhabitants, in particular on coral polyps. Whereas it is desirable to generate gentle parallel flow lines in the aquarium with lower flow rates and without a hard water jet. Like in nature and to the benefit of the animals, Turbelle® stream pumps meets these requirements.
The pump series from 6,000 to 20,000 l/h (1,585 to 5,283 US gal./h) cannot be used as filter pumps. The scope of delivery comprises a universal holder for horizontal and vertical glass panes or frames (up to 39 mm / 1.53 in.) with numerous mounting possibilities.
The speed of the Turbelle® stream 6101 and 6201 can be controlled by a Singlecontroller or a Multicontroller; in addition, they have been provided with a fish care function in case of motor standstill.
