ATK v2 - Automatic Top-Off Kit - Neptune Systems

The ATK (Automatic Top-off Kit) is a simple, standalone, and complete solution for replacing water lost to evaporation.

The new aquarium hobbyist has many challenges, but none is more annoying than the chore of adding water, every day, to make up for that lost to evaporation (a.k.a. topping off/up). This alone usually makes the automatic top-off (ATO) device the first piece of automation equipment purchased.

The ironic flip side of this decision is that a faulty ATO device is one of the leading reasons for catastrophic aquarium failure, or even worse, flooding of the house or business.

Not all ATO devices are created equal. Sadly, many ATO on the market are made with cheap components, have very little protection against these catastrophes, and are just a nightmare to assemble and install correctly.

An ATO does not have to be both a blessing and a curse!

We designed our ATK – Automatic Top-Off Kit to not only be super-simple to install and use, but it is unique in the market as an ATO device with three layers of redundant monitoring and water-level control. The ATK does the work for you, while at the same time protecting your tank and your home.

    Apex ATK

Posted by Chris W on May 2nd 2020

After using this product for approximately a month, I can honestly say I will never have a tank without one again. Basic setup is quick and painless, my salinity level is now really consistent. I have seen others negative reviews of this product and the 10 or 12 that I have seen you boils down to one problem and one problem only, user error. If it is tied to the Apex you can overcome almost every problem that cause others to give paw reviews. If my ATK breaks tomorrow I will purchase a new one before the weekend is over

    Waste of $$$

Posted by Joeu on Feb 5th 2020

This system is delinquent in efforts to be a reliable ATK. I've owned it for 2 months so I can form more than an opinion.

The best that it gets is that you can turn off and on the pump remotely. THAT'S IT !!!

1: System does not pump water even after the water level drops below the sensor.
2: If you turn off your return pump to feed your fish it trips the second sensor into thinking your sump is filled. This results in the ATK not starting when the return pump kicks back on because it thinks the sump is flooded and your sump ends up running dry.
3: The return pump has a delay on it until which it starts to pump water so it will start then stop...

Neptune systems support is a C at best for this product. I've purchased it so it can work not so that I will have to reach out to someone to help to try to get it to work. This product has faults that I know they are aware of that I've raised to their attention but I am sure that they will place hush hush about it. The best usage for me now is to place this P.O.S. on a frag tank or hospital tank system.

Spend the money, get a tunze, avoid this non-sense. I expected better, it's been more disappointing than a failed date.

    GREAT So FAR!!!!

Posted by Aquaplex on Dec 22nd 2019

This was an upgrade from the Icecap ATO...works well so far. Initially was a bit apprehensive because of the float valve, but now I see the benefit of having it. Fortunately, I have not had the opportunity to test out the float valve. With the added benefit of using the Apex Fusion..this was a good investment and upgrade; atleast for me.it was.

    Happy with ATO system

Posted by Nick on Sep 24th 2019

Installed ATK no issues and works as expected. I split the ATO function with a second fluid monitoring module. The ATK is upstairs with the tank and the second FMM is in the basement with the water storage. Been install about a week and it works great.

    Best ATO on the Market

    Posted by AF12DLT on Jul 26th 2019

I put this ATO in use about two weeks ago, I use a 7 gallon RODI water jug. After seven days of use and daily checking the salinity levels stayed perfect. The ATO has worked flawlessly. After seven days there was still about 1.5 gallons of RODI H2O still in the jug.
This ATO system has three safety stops / backups, so no over filling.

You can's go wrong with this ATO and it works as a stand alone system.
