Boyds ChemiPure Elite, Bulk 6 pack 11.74 oz.

The Boyd Chemipure Elite has the filtration capability of the Boyd Chemipure but it's loaded with ferric oxide to help quickly get rid of phosphates and silicates.

Boyd Chemipure Elite is an easy-to-use filter media which contains activated carbons and ion exchange resins that remove waste and nitrogen build-up in your tank. Dissolved organic food waste, animal waste and other biological by-products can pollute aquarium water, making the tank unpleasant to look at and to live in. If waste products are not removed, bacteria and other harmful organisms could bloom. Boyd Chemipure takes care of this without changing water chemistry and pH levels, removing trace elements, or harming your organisms.

  • Chemical absorption filter and ion generator and exchange unit
  • Keeps pH at a perfect constant level
  • For use with African Cichlids and Discus
  • Needs replacement only every six months
  • Soft corals thrive and grow luxuriously with absolutely no water change
  • Does not remove trace elements
  • Aids in the natural balance of positive and negative charges
  • Can be used with all water types

Nothing but the best for my tank

Posted by Got to have it on Nov 15th 2016

Been using chemi-pure for over a year now, not that I have had any problems just cheap insurance. Fair price for the 6 pack of loose bags. Directions say to change out every 3 months, but I am changing every 2 months. FYI just some friendly advice make sure you pre rinse these bags with RO water before installing in your system. I rinse for a couple of minutes to flush the loose carbon out before putting the bag in my return side of refugium / sump.

Great product, great price, great results! What more could I ask for?

Posted by NavyMom on May 27th 2016

I have had my 100 gallon tank for several years. Until a year ago, I was on city water. I am now on well water. Even though I have a (very) expensive system connected to the well, it doesn't do everything. Soon after moving, I noticed I had cloudy water. It was more than new tank cycling as it continued for several months. I never had that with city water. I tried everything (limited lighting, water changes, limited food, etc).

I also tried several different products in my tank. I was limited in what I could use because I have nine ACFs. Nothing worked. I was ready to resign myself to an ugly tank when I came across this. I decided to try yet again. It took about two weeks for my water to completely clear, but I could see improvement every day.

This doesn't hurt my ACFs, and has, once again, given me a tank that I can be proud of! The initial price may be a little harsh, but overall, it really works out to be about the same (or cheaper) than other products I used both with city water and well water.

I can't write a complete review without mentioning the awesome help I received from this company when I called prior to placing my first order. This is the third time I have ordered, and have done a bulk order. This adjusts the monthly maintenance pricing to way below any thing else.

Need 6 chemi-pure every three months

Posted by Stew on Mar 14th 2016

I use these with " metal gone " in my canister filters for my 110 gallon planted Discus tanks for over two years without nuance algae, water discoloration, or water nutrient issues. I only monitor TDS and PH now. I change the filter contents every three months and buying six or twelve chemi-pure bags at a time is most economical way to go if you have multiple tanks and filters. BTW the discus and golden rams are doing great.

Best carbon you can get !

Posted by 90 gallon on Jan 19th 2016

Yes this is expensive but one bag will last 3 months, and very easy to use just rinse and drop into your return side of your refugium. This is one of the best carbon media on the market. Works great at keeping tank parameters in check. It helps polish water and keeps it crystal clear. I use it on my reef aquarium and it keeps all my corals and fish nice and happy.
