Bubble Magus Filter Roll, Medium

This filter is great , i modded my rsr250 sump and it fits perfectly, the hose fit perfectly over my return valve piping i didnt have to change anything, i only had to remove my old filter sock holder. (Posted on 1/14/2020)

I got a clarisea sk-5000 and after 1 days and it has false alarm and just keep rolling the filter. I ended up replacing with this and oh boy, what a difference. I originally bought it for my 50 gallon nano tank as it is rated 400-500 gallon, but since I returned the Clarisea, I tried it on my Redsea 750 xxl 200 gallon with a 1200 gallon p/h pump. I had a Vectra M1 that is rated 1200 gallon p/h and it is setup at 100 % and the Bubble Magus is filtering well. This unit is big and I think Bubble Magus rating of 400 gallon is not correct. The inlet is 1" but the chamber is at least 2" which makes the water flow easily inside without agitating the filter so much. This unit comes with adapter and hose and high quality. This thing is great. It comes out of the box assembled and ready to go. It’s extremely compact and easy to hook up. NOW I can see the crap I used to let recirculate in my tank and I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to all of its inhabitants as I had no idea how gross it must have been. Even the staple trick to replace the roll looks like it’s going to be a snap.

I wish it had more holes drilled to raise it up higher in my sump, but I was able to get a riser under it and it’s working great.

Running ~400 gph through this, and it’s working perfectly. Figuring out how deep to put it was a challenge, but I got there. Based on other reviews and how well it’s performing for me, I’m going to bump it up to 800 gph. (Posted on 9/29/2019)

I received and installed my Bubble Magus Filter Roller last weekend. I have not powered it up yet but so far, I am satisfied. It seems to be well built, compact and fit perfectly in my sump. The flexible hose provided for the inlet seems to be sized for metric piping, as it is too small for 1" schedule 40 PVC. However, this was fairly easily overcome by using a heat gun to heat the flex prior to inserting the pipe. This actually has the unintended benefit of providing a tight seal without the need for the plastic clamps that are also provided. Overall, I think I will be happy with my purchase, especially since it was half the cost of competitive models. (Posted on 8/14/2019)

This unit is very well constructed. I have been using for several weeks and working flawlessly. I'm putting about 750 GPH through it and it handles this very well. This filter is doing a good job. My only con is the large amount of air bubbles I am getting in the chamber. Hope to find a fix for that. (Posted on 9/17/2018)
