  1. Odd design choices Review by RonS
    Product Rating:

I purchased this because it had the right dimensions for my stand, the opaque acrylic, and the price - but that's really where the good stuff ends. Lots of odd design choices where made on this reservoir:

    - There is a drilled and tapped hole on the bottom front with a ball valve installed. This is nice if you're plumbed directly into an RO/DI unit, but I don't think many people do that. Why do I want a hole below the water line on a reservoir? Plus, most cabinets are cramped for space, so why do I want this valve hanging off the front? I spent $4 for a 1/4" NPT plug for the hole and used the valve elsewhere.

    - There is a hole in the top for a water hose to exit. However, this hole is not large enough to allow a power cord to pass through, so there is no access for your pump power cord. I had to cut a notch in the top of the box near the lid for power.

    - Did I mention the hole for a hose? Othoer similar units (including Eshopps own Pacific line) use a bulkhead for this purpose - a much better solution.

    - There is a really nice float-type water level indicator. However, the indicator is on the wide/side panel of the unit. In 99% of installations I've seen, only the narrow/end panels are visible.... most other reservoirs put their level markings on the narrow panel for a reason. In my cabinet, the level indicator is useless.

So... I think this might be a good option for someone with a dedicated fish room where supply water is plumbed to the box (though, why do you need a box in that case?), and your pump uses wireless power (haha). However, for a typical cabinet-based installation, look to Eshopps' "Pacific" model - definitely with the extra $20 or so - just make sure you keep it away from your cabinet/refugium lighting to avoid potential algae growth inside the reservoir.

  2. Nice Functionality Review by Jon

  3. Sturdy and well built Review by Chris
    Product Rating:

I'm very happy with my ATO container. It looks and functions great, taking up little room in a full cabinet. The only thing giving this 4 stars is the fact that they drilled holes in the back of the unit for hanging purposes. (Posted on 5/13/2016)

  4. Very Nice touches Review by Pinque
    Product Rating:

I had previously purchased the 2 gallon version, but found it too small to be a true time saver. The 5 gallon model is perfect for topping off a sump, which is important if you run an in-sump skimmer. The container is beautifully constructed and has a couple of additional features that the 2 gallon lacks...first of all, it does not have the mounting holes on the back. I always thought that was a bad idea, since filling the tank can cause leaks. Besides the little trap door (which can easily be drilled and cut to accommodate the pump output and cord) another hole in the top is useful for filling the tank and adding liquid additives...just buy a funnel. Finally the water level window has a white float attached to a built in piece of rigid tubing...this makes it way easier to see the water level. Highly recommended (Posted on 10/17/2015)

  5. Good project Review by Greybeard
    Product Rating:

As with everything else I've purchased from EShopps, good quality product.
Mine did not have the two mounting holes pictured on the back of the tank. I'm fine with that, but the photo should be updated. (Posted on 9/10/2015)

  6. Exactly what I was looking For Review by Thomas
    Product Rating:

I searched high and low for a reservoir container that was the right size (5 gal), pre-adapted for tube connection, and fit neatly into my tank cabinet. These fit the bill perfectly! I am using them for both ATO and AWC, and they're great. The narrow box shape makes them perfect for an in-cabinet reservoir. There are only a couple small cons. They had a strong plastic smell right out of the box. I washed them with reef suds and aired them out before use which helped. Also, I wish the water level window was in the front instead of on the side because I have them set up side by side so I can't see them, but definitely not a deal breaker. I'm very happy I found these and would recommend them! (Posted on 8/25/2015)

  7. Looks Great and is very Functional Review by Jeff Baker
    Product Rating:

As advertised. Looks great, has a hole at the top for larger tubing or use airline tubing at the bottom. I use a small amp pump from Storage Container into my Eshopps 75 Sump using an ATO system (Posted on 8/5/2015)
