Skim mate in 12 hours
This is my third Icecap protein skimmer and the first two, K2-50's, took about a week to settle down and produce skim mate. I just installed this K1-100 I bought from Aquacave (best price on internet) and 12 hours later I had some rich skim mate. The K1-100 is at least twice as large as the K2-50 so I'm guessing the increase size allowed quickly stability (don't know). Icecap changed the output adjustment of the K1's from a vertical sliding gate valve on the K2's to a horizontal sliding gate. Although this output adjustment works fine, it is very sensitive to movement. The slightest movement of the large adjustment knob result is a big change in bubble height.<br><br>I will update this review if needed as time goes by.
