Great pump
Replaced my 2-year-old Vectra. It is quieter than M2. Hopefully, it will last longer.

Powerful and Energy Efficient.
I'm very happy thus far with my Sicce SDC 9. Currently running at 80%, it's putting out as much flow as the Mag 18 it replaced, and it's doing that at less than 90 watts. The Mag 18 by comparison draws 145 watts. I could move considerably more water still for very little increase in power consumption. It also puts out considerably less heat, which is a wash in the Winter here in the North, but will be welcome in the Summer. The pump and controller look to be well built. This pump comes with a 3 year warranty which can be extended to 5 years if you register online. Sicce has a pretty good reputation for taking care of its customers and probably a better reputation for the longevity of their pumps. So, why not 5 stars? Primarily noise. I had read some reviews that complained about the noise, I concluded it would probably not be an issue for me with a basement sump. It's mostly not, but I imagine it will be for a good number of people who would consider this pump. I don't think it's especially suited for under tank in a quiet room. My second slight complaint is the app (or controller) is not sending notifications, also not really a problem for me as I have an Apex, but it would be nice to have the backup temperature alert. I have been in touch with Sicce and they are working on this. My final criticism is that it seems this pump could have been (may be) easily controllable by third party controllers and as nice as the Sicce controller is, I'd love to have it plugged into one of the variable outlets on my Apex.<br>Overall, Like I said above, I'm very happy with this pump. I think if noise is not a major consideration it will be an excellent choice as either a return or a circulation pump. A primary consideration in my selection of a new return pump was energy efficiency. In my case, this pump will pay for itself in about 3 years. I'm pretty pleased with that return before the additional performance is even considered. While price and availability are keeping me from trying the protein skimmer SDC pump, I certainly would be interested even though the electrical savings probably aren't there to justify it.
